Here at Overtons we have just completed our purpose built Shot blasting bay. With full dust extraction We also have two bead blasting bays. This business expansion has been supported by New Anglia Local Enterprise partnership through the Growing Business Fund.
- The process of blasting glass beads onto stainless steel parts and machinery. Many of our projects are equipment used in food factories.
Shot blasting
- Is the surface treatment of new, painted and rusty steel work. We shot blasting steel prior to painting and hot zinc spraying to clean and give an excellent key to ensure good adhesion.
- This is an alternative to galvanising. Zinc is applied by melting and spraying onto the steelwork. It gives excellent corrosion protection without the risk of distortion and filling of extra holes.
